ABOUT
Maki Caenis, He is known as a collector of antique tackle, with a strong interest in it.
However, he doesn't like to just display them, and says he likes to actually use them and get a feel for the thoughts of the anglers of the time through these tools.
His collection includes many rods, starting with Hardy's Green Heart, Alexander Grant's vibration rod, Hardy's Paraconacane, Wye, J.S. Sharp splice joint and ferrule models, and P.D. Mallock's 12ft.
His favorite is a J.S. Sharp 12ft splice joint, but it wasn't in good condition, so he finally started making his own rods.
The lightest is a 0 weight at 7ft 9in, which is for his home river, Yukawa. Next is the 1 weight.
The longest and heaviest is an 18ft 12 weight, which was made based on the 18ft and 20ft spey rods of Ken Sawada, whom he respects.
As of 2025, we are mainly designing and creating hollow built and splice joint rods that are 12ft and under 8weight, so if you are interested, please contact us.
